The first member of the SignMorph team joined the project in September, 2021: PhD student Marah Jaraisy. Marah will be working on verb directionality and language attitudes/ideologies in Kufr Qassem Sign Language, a sign language traditionally used in the Palestinian community of Kufr Qassem.
Not long after Marah arrived in Birmingham, we had dinner with Tayyeb Badawi, who was visiting the UK from Kufr Qassem.
